History


Document Management Group (DMG) began as a sole proprietorship business in 1991 by Mica Hanchey-Matysiewski.


In 1991 - 2001 DMG was hired by our first client - Enron Properties Co. DMG was hired to reorganize their real estate and property records and maintain their file room until 2001.


1991 – Present; DMG has been hired for a number of small, one-off projects. These projects include anything from registering and cataloging participants in the Buffalo Bayou Regatta, to the indexing and classification of records and boxes for companies such as Harlan’s BBQ and Banco Popular.


In 1993, Enron Corp’s legal department awarded DMG the contract to inventory and create a uniformed classification system to organize the 112,000 linear filing inches of records on two separate floors. This project included litigation, corporate and regulatory records. After the reorganization DMG stayed to handle the daily filing needs until Enron relocated to the new building in 2004.


In 1997, Apache Corp hired DMG for a 12-month project to combine and unify land and lease records from multiple organizations using various filing systems.


In 1998, Nippon hired DMG to organize their accounting records in a project that spanned 3 years.


In 2000 and 2002, DMG was hired to shift 200,000 and 300,000 linear-filing inches, respectively, of medical records for University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston. The projects were completed in under a month for both years.


2000 – present; DMG has performed various scanning projects for Enron Corp Legal department, Enron Wind, and BHP Billiton Americas Legal department. These projects include document preparation, scanning, categorizing and indexing.


In 2001 - 2003, Enron Oil & Gas International hired DMG to reorganize and maintain their well files for operations in various international countries.


2001 – Present; DMG was hired by BHPBilliton to handle their facilities records management needs. Our work includes the creation and maintenance of a new database, the handling of all offsite storage activities and requests, and the implementation of sound records management procedures and standards throughout their Houston office.
